Google is expected to enter the foldable smartphone market with the rumored Pixel Fold. This past week, numerous reports revealed extensive information about Google’s first foldable device, including its specifications, design, probable release date, and estimated price.
According to reports, Google plans to introduce the Pixel Fold on May 10 at its annual developer conference, Google I/O. Now, a leaked video on Twitter provides us with our first glimpse at Google’s forthcoming foldable smartphone.
Observed by 9to5Popular tipster Kuba Wojciechowski has tweeted a video demonstrating the functionality of the Google Pixel Fold. Although the user interface was obscured, this gives us an excellent first look at the smartphone’s construction and design.
Observation of the Google Pixel Fold
According to the video, the Google Pixel Fold has rounded edges and substantial top and bottom bezels. The absence of an under-display camera suggests that it is concealed within the thick bezels. The display appears comparable in dimension to the Oppo Find N and wider than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4.
The smartphone appears to have concealed the notch, as there is no visible furrow, unlike the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, which has a substantial crease. In addition, the Google Pixel Fold features a side-mounted power control and volume buttons located in the bottom half of the device.
Google Pixel Fold: Estimated Cost
According to FrontPageTech’s Jon Prosser, Google’s upcoming Fold smartphone could be priced as high as $1799, placing it on par with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. This claim that the price could be $1799 has been confirmed by the informant Debayan Roy.
It should be noted, however, that all of these disclosures are based on unofficial listings and should be viewed with a grain of salt. Only Google’s official announcement will disclose the Google Pixel Fold’s actual specifications, pricing, and other details.
