Since releasing our new fishing game, Dredge, for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, a month ago, we have been completely blown away by the positive reception the game has received. We are thankful that you are having a good time exploring the perilous waters beyond The Marrows while fishing in The Marrows.
Today, we are ecstatic to share the news that we have more eldritch experiences planned for Dredge throughout the year. These include three free updates as well as a new paid adventure starring the Ironhaven Corporation, which is an organization that you may have heard referenced in passing by some of the game’s occupants.
The year will bring these improvements and the paid adventure. See below.
We are thrilled to bring you one of the features that so many of you have requested, which is enhanced capability for the in-game map. Our first free update will be released in May, and you may look forward to it. With the addition of map markers, you will have the ability to select from a variety of colored icons symbolizing a wide variety of things, like perils, shipwrecks, mysteries, and more.
This will make it possible for you to navigate between locations more efficiently than in the past. In addition to that, this update will include many bug fixes and modifications to the game’s balance.
In the second update that we are releasing, we will be introducing two new modes that will provide players with very different ways to experience Dredge. The first option is called Passive Mode, and it is designed for users who want a less taxing experience overall.
Monsters that normally assault fishing boats will no longer be hostile, allowing players to concentrate on fishing and taking in the tranquil atmosphere of the environment instead of having to worry about being attacked.
The second mode that this update adds is called the Photo mode, and it was another addition that was heavily sought. However, instead of merely adding the capability by way of a straightforward menu option, we will be taking a different approach.
When our photo mode goes live, there will be a new in-game character added who will help players unlock their camera ability and share clues on where to find some of the local marine wildlife as subjects for your photography, some of which will be brand new in this update.
Prepare to Dredge even more ancient anomalies.
This character will also help players find some of the subjects for their photographs, some of which will be brand new in this update. The mode will be “hooked” into the capability of the PlayStation to share screenshots, allowing you to share whatever captures you make, whether they be of magnificent whales or terrifying abominations from the depths of the ocean.
Customization options for boats, like as color schemes and flags, will be available after installing our third free update. You will acquire new boat color schemes and flags as you travel along the shores and bayous of Dredge. These additions will make your fishing vessel stand out from others in the area. Later on in the year, we will have additional details regarding both update two and update three.
At long last, we will be producing a paid downloadable content pack that will be completely optional and will feature the shadowy Ironhaven Corporation. They have the intention of reviving the local towns and people through the establishment of a cutting-edge drilling operation in the region, although it is not clear what their final purpose is.
As you progress through the game and meet new people, construct new items, and catch new fish, you will have the opportunity to learn the truth about their possibly sinister actions. You will acquire materials to construct new buildings and biomatter to fuel the rig.
