Chipmaker MediaTek unveiled a new chipset dubbed ‘Dimensity 7050’ on Tuesday for next-generation 5G smartphones in India.
Lava is India’s first OEM (original equipment manufacturer) to partner with MediaTek in order to fuel the upcoming ‘Agni 2 5G’ smartphone with a Dimensity 7050 chip.
According to the company, the new chipset enables OEMs to create smartphones with superior CPU performance, low battery consumption, and an incredibly fluid gaming experience, as well as slim and lightweight 5G smartphones.
MediaTek’s ‘Dimensity 7050’ is a 5G smartphone modem designed for the Indian market.
Anku Jain, Managing Director of MediaTek India, said in a statement that the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 will enable OEMs to create exceptional smartphones with improved CPU performance, low battery consumption, and a remarkably fluid gaming experience.
In addition, the company stated that the new chip is designed to give gamers an advantage with MediaTek HyperEngine gaming enhancements, to capture high-quality images with its advanced Imagiq camera technologies, and to provide streamers with powerful MiraVision 4K HDR video processing.
This will provide gamers with exceptional power efficiency and a longer battery life, allowing for prolonged gaming sessions.
MediaTek Dimensity 7050 also includes support for 200MP photos and 4K HDR video, Wi-Fi 6, fast and efficient 5G, MediaTek 5G UltraSave, dual 5G SIM, MediaTek MiraVision display and video enhancements, and AI for next-generation cameras.
