Trainers can anticipate a whole new set of pocket monsters to be featured in the forthcoming Spotlight Hour events as the new month begins in Pokemon GO. On those specified days, these Pokemon will appear with a boosted spawn rate for one hour. This week’s Spotlight Hour will feature Alolan Geodude, one of five intriguing candidates for the month of May in 2023.
Spotlight Hour events are one of the two weekly events that occur in Pokemon GO, along with Raid Hours. Each week, the former focuses on one Pokemon, typically one with a low capture rate, that has an increased spawn rate. In addition, there is an event incentive to encourage even more trainer participation.
The 2nd of May Pokemon GO Spotlight Hour: Start time, event bonuses, and more
Alolan Geodude arrives next
The Pokemon GO Spotlight Hour for this week will take place on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. It will last an hour, beginning at 6 p.m. local time and ending at 7 p.m. local time. As stated previously, Alolan Geodude will spawn more frequently during the event for players to capture.
Alolan Geodude is a regional variant of Geodude, the Rock Pokémon. It possesses a dual-type combination of Rock and Electric, as opposed to the usual combination of Rock and Ground. Trainers in Pokemon GO can evolve Alolan Geodude into Alolan Graveler and Alolan Golem with 25 and 100 candies, respectively.
The increased spawn rate of the upcoming Spotlight Hour event will make it easier for players to collect the requisite quantity of candy. In addition, they will receive a 2x Catch XP incentive for the event. Trainers should attempt to evolve the Pokémon with the highest attributes and IVs in order to obtain a formidable Golem.
Will Alolan Geodude Shiny appear during the next Spotlight Hour?
The fact that Shiny Alolan Geodude will be available during the event will excite players. The capture of this Pokémon will also grant access to Shiny Alolan Graveler and Shiny Alolan Golem.

They should also ensure that their Pokemon Storage Box has sufficient space.
