The Tor Project and Mullvad VPN, two privacy-focused groups, unveiled Mullvad Browser on Monday. The free browser runs on Windows, Macintosh, and Linux. Download a Firefox experimental extension.
The Windows, Macintosh, and Linux browser is free.
Jan Jonsson, Mullvad VPN’s CEO, said in a statement that widespread monitoring is ludicrous. “The Mullvad Browser provides more privacy options to reach as many people as possible and make life difficult for data collectors.”
The Mullvad Browser, created by Tor Project developers, reduces data tracking. Like Tor, it makes all users look as one. That implies more browser users equals greater protection.
“Creating this browser with Mullvad is about offering people with more privacy alternatives for everyday surfing and challenging the present business model of exploiting people’s behavioral data,” stated Isabela Fernandes, Tor Project executive director.
Latest privacy-focused browser is Mullvad. DuckDuckGo and Brave both prioritize privacy. DuckDuckGo also offers email protection beta that removes trackers and other privacy services.
